DESCRIPTION
Colorful addition to any plate! Beautiful Italian 2-3" round beet with unique alternating red and white rings within a scarlet skin. Flesh is very tender, mild and sweet. Mild flavored 12" tops are green with red-striped stems that can be eaten raw or cooked and are an excellent substitute for spinach. Fast growing and long-standing in the fall. Ideal for boiling, pickling, baking and freezing. A true specialty item for Fresh Markets!

Pollination occurs by insect, bird, wind, humans, or other natural mechanisms. Because there are no restrictions on the flow of pollen between individuals, open-pollinated plants are more genetically diverse. However, as long as pollen is not shared between different varieties within the same species, then the seed produced will remain true-to-type year after year.
