Old standard cross between Tangerine and Rutgers. 5-6' tall plants produce high yields of 8-12 oz, 2-3" diameter, globe-shaped, thick-walled, meaty fruits with few seeds. Bright golden-orange tomatoes have a mild sweet flavor, low acidity and high Vitamin C content. Widely adapted throughout US except in northernmost regions. Requires staking or cages. Perfect for salads, salsa, cooking, canning and making tomato juice. Adds cheery color to salads and sandwiches. Excellent choice for Home Gardens and always a great seller at Farmer's Markets.
Pollination occurs by insect, bird, wind, humans, or other natural mechanisms. Because there are no restrictions on the flow of pollen between individuals, open-pollinated plants are more genetically diverse. However, as long as pollen is not shared between different varieties within the same species, then the seed produced will remain true-to-type year after year.
