(OP) HEIRLOOM. 85 days. Blocky shape melon with small dark brown seeds, weighing 20-22 lbs. Very similar to Crimson Sweet but tests show a higher sugar content and better flesh color. (OP) 85 days. We have named this melon Desert King because we consider it the most drought tolerant variety we have found for dry land, desert like conditions. Round to slightly oblong, light pea green color, medium thin, tough rind, deep rich yellow, sweet and tender flesh with grayish black seeds. It has the ability to lie on the vine a month or so after ripening and still hold its good qualities and remain free from sunburn. A small percentage of red flesh melons may be found. Positively will not sunburn!

Attractive, deep red, firm flesh with a very good taste with large dark brown mottled seeds. Legacy has an a very tight placenta placement with no splits or cracks in the heart. The bright rind color and the firm flesh holds well, allowing a longer harvest window and shelf life. It has a very uniform oblong shape thus reducing the tapering ends which usually contributes to a high percentage of culls. Averages 22-25 lbs, however,with reduced plant populations it has the ability to exceed 25 lbs if conditions are favorable.Very productive.
